TOURISM VISAS
There are approximately 130 types of visas available which are grouped under classes and subclasses and directly relate to the purpose of the applicant's stay in Australia.
Visitor visas are undoubtedly the most common visa granted. Immigration law provides that all travelers who are not Australian Citizens must have authority(a visa) to travel to and stay in Australia. Visitors must have a genuine intention to visit Australia and have adequate funds to support themselves during any stay.
Tourist visas are also granted precluding the visitor from working whilst in Australia.
There are a number of classes of visitor visa including:-
Electronic travel authorities are issued to visitors through agencies in specified countries and are not evidenced in the applicant's passport. Visa information is obtained from all intending overseas visitors and is available at airports before passengers arrive. This enables officials to protect Australia against people who might pose a security, criminal or health risk.
Sponsored visitor visas are available for those who may otherwise find it difficult to obtain a visa due to doubt as to their genuineness or likelihood that they will breach their visa conditions. In some cases a financial security bond may be required which can range from $5,000'$10,000.
LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Australia's migration programs and laws are complex and are frequently changing. As your representative a migration agent is up to date with the latest criteria, charges, processing times, necessary supporting documentation and review processes and is therefore better able to maximise your chances of a successful application.
An agent can provide you with advice in relation to a specific question, handle your application from beginning to end, provide the necessary support and representation in any decision review process or provide general guidance should you decide to prepare and lodge your application personally.
All agents are obligated to maintain and demonstrate an up-to-date and accurate knowledge of current immigration laws in order to retain their registration. They are also governed by a strict code of conduct which dictates, amongst other things, how they are to deal with clients and handle client funds.
