How many character references should I get for an upcoming criminal guilty plea and does the the person/people who write them need to be aviable for contact by the magistrate on the day of court?

Perhaps not the number but the quality or status of the person providing the reference. eg a Minister of religion, owner of a significant business, the Mayor, doctor, psychologist etc would have much more significance that someone you work with, the guy next door, someone you play football with and so on.
