@ BD Eye, Very succint, thankyou ( I'm actually grinning here )
@fatho2, No she does not think we have been separated longer. There was no spare room living or anything like that at all under the one roof. We have a small 2 bedroom unit and the spare room is full of junk, our Cat can barely find a place to sleep! We still slept in the same bed, sat on the same couch etc.
She physically moved out on the 19th August this year.
Perhaps she was just trying to get a "rise" out of me whilst we were sitting in the councillor's room. A rise I might add that never happened.
Thankyou both for your thoughts, if you have any more please let me know.
Hi again fatho2,
You are quite right in what you say. My wife is still not sure if she wants to be married to me and is also undergoing some of her own personal counselling ( issues from her past and no doubt my role in this fiasco )
All I can do is be nice and take each day as it comes.
I too, have much to ruminate about as I am far from innocent in this mess. We are both guilty of doing the wrong thing but at least we both admitted it. My wife however is still angry at me, where as I have put her actions to bed (no pun intended)
Time will tell I suppose.
Once again, thankyou all for your input.
separated for nearly 3 months now. After our first and no doubt last counselling session 2 days ago my wife remarked during the session that she could send me divorce papers now
She will not be able to file the divorce application at the family court until the irretrievable breakdown of marriage condition has been met, and that condition is 12 months separation. (as others have stated)
However what she may have been referring to is that she could serve you with a property settlement application, that can occur any time after separation.
@ BD Eye,
Yes, you speak wisely and making things harder is not what any of us wants.
I did not know that about the property settlement application. Thankyou for mentioning it. I shall keep this in mind.
By the way, is that avatar picture one of the singer Al Martino? My grandmother used to love him. Personally, I am a Dean Martin fan.
