I was caught shoplifting in department store in Sydney (item value was $48). I was taken to the security office by the security guard. Store operational manager and security guard asked me to complete "Voluntary Statement" admitting taking item outside store without paying and apologising for it. I also been issued with the "Notice of Withdrawal of Implied Licence to Entry" which prohibits me from entering any of their stores for 12 months. My driverse licence and the store card were both photocopied. It was my first such a stupid offence. I expressed remorse and been told that shop will not call police but will keep my details on their records . I was allowed to purchase the item and leave the premises. Is there anything I can fear in terms of the criminal prosecution? - I am employed in the public service and any criminal record would lead to my sacking from the job. cathyk38662.7687384259
