Just a legal question about property rights and mail boxes. I have a shop that I lease which has a resident leasing the rear of the property from the land lord (not a sub lease from me), the resident at the rear has no mailbox, so when we moved in we had an informal arrangement where the shop would collect the mail for them. Everything was fine for several years, then the resident at the back of the shop started an ebay business and started getting many packages each week delivered. We didnt mind at the start but now its getting ridiculous and I want it to stop. I’ve contacted the agent we lease through, but I was wondering if anyone knows what the legal position is on this? Does the resident have a right for us to hold the mail or should a post box be installed out the front for the rear shop? No idea where I stand.
