I'm employed in the health sector, and paid an hourly rate for a fixed number of hours per day. My colleagues and I are expected to complete a set quota of service provisions regardless of how long each takes us. If we have not completed the quota, we are expected to stay back unpaid to complete the work.
My question is whether it is legal for my employer to set a piece-work quota, but only pay an hourly rate. We don't get a bonus if we complete more than our quota, just are expected to work unpaid overtime if we don't
