I am an Indian and had gained my permanent residence to Australia in 2008 and since then I have never travelled overseas. I was married in india before I gained permanent residence to Australia.

Meanwhile my wife returned to India and filed Dowry Harassment and marital abuse case against me at Indian court and sent the dowry harrassment court documents to the Australian Immigration. Dowry harrassment in India is considered a criminal offence but I haven't been to India after I gained my permanent residence until today.

If I apply for citizenship , will Immigration consider all my pending cases in India and ask me for overseas penal clearance although I haven't been to India in last 4 years. will that affect my citizenship application
