legal aid isn't so great so thinking maybe doing some by myself but will also look into them again.
yes almost everything we have is in his name..he bought his house before wemet with his first wife who died...so Im guessing it will be now just in his name...but he was working so he put all things in his name
Legal Aid will be better than doing it all yourself. If you were on income support and are currently in debt because you paid for a private solicitor that is awful.
After I split from ex I spent over $30k on legals until my cash reserves were depleted then was granted Legal Aid that carried me through the next two years including resolution of our children's matter? I had to pay for my property hearing though which was another $30k at least.
I think you should lodge an application and financial statement as soon as you can - this will notify the court of the assets of the relationship as of right now and will force him to do the same.
You should also look into lodging a caveat on any real estate in his name - this would mean he cannot transfer the title without notice to you
