The award my girlfriend is working under is:
http://www.industrialrelations.nsw.gov.au/awards/pathways/ results.jsp?award_code=1144&contentlist=true&content listresults=false

She is currently being employed as a casual with a pay rate of $17.70 per hour.

The base salary for a full time employee is $33,571 + sick leave, etc.

There is no clause within the Award that specifies a loading for casual employees, but there is this:
7.1 Employment may be ongoing or for a specified period and/or part-time
and/or casual, on terms and conditions agreed upon and specified in
writing. Such terms and conditions shall be no less favourable than
those prescribed in this award.
The award is very poorly written and is open for abuse by the employer(as far as I can see).  I am looking for advise on approaching thecompany to negotiate a more equitable pay rate.
