3-way accident

in a nutshell:

i was on the freeway at peak hour. it was heavily congested so i was driving EXTREMELY slow or may have been completely stopped even. Either way i wasn't accelerating. The car behind me wasn't watching. She slammed into my rear which then forced me into the car in front of me.

There is extensive damage to the front and rear of my car now totalling an amount $9384.00. None of us are insured, putting me in a bit of a pickle because the girl who hit me wants to pay ONLY for the damage to the rear.

She's arguing that I was not at a "safe braking distance" and therefore am liable for the front damage of my vehicle and the rear damage of the car in front. Surely this cannot be correct as had it not been for her negligence i would not have hit the car in front to begin with?

If anyone has information on who would win this in a court of law please let me know
