yes, good idea. I wondered about all the people who had posted on the whirlpool but then dropped off. The only way would be to whim everyone who ever posted. Did you do that already?

Maybe we should introduce ourselves...We have come from another forum at whirlpool because our thread was starting to get legal orientated (search Forte Connect). In short it is about bundling offers whereby the facility to pay off a piece of equipment with your business phone bill is offered. This was sold to many of us with the explanation that the bundling company bought up blocks of "call credits" from Telstra at a discounted rate. They would on sell these call credits to us and also be able to pay the lease on any piece of equipment bundled together in your telephone bill. This was ok until the phone co. went belly up and no-one could contact them....then when they could...no answers!
Soooo, then we have a closer look at what is going on and voila!!Pandora's box. The bundling company is the phone company, and it would appear that these companys go belly up then reappear in a different name. Goods are stated on invoices to the lease companys with hugely overstated values and or many more items have been "supplied" than actually exist. These items are put into the rental contracts AFTER they are signed, then we are told there is nothing you can do because you signed a contract.
Most people involved appear to be trade or small business orientated and not completely savvy in the area of contracts etc. and /or have been catagorically duped by very unscrupulous operaters .
Thats a start anyway, its hard to explain when you barely understand what's gone on.

Hi guys ,
i might be of assistance. connectls is ( read )
Dear all ForteConnect/Aracom/Truscom ex-customers,
I am also one of many SME owners that has been ripped off, over-promised and under delivered to by this trio of con artists that call them self a business.
Like you I also have many questions such as; - When did this Government get so lenient that one company could come in and rip everyone off and getaway with it? - Why do we even need to consider our contract terms when they aren’t delivering anything? - What is the TIO doing about this (besides waiting ten bloody days - about 100 in business days) while our businesses suffer without a basic business requirement of having a phone line? - Why are you and I running our businesses honestly and with integrity while this TRIO can make a fortune and get away with it?
As I am also a SME owner, the idea of trying to take these bastards to court will cripple my business, and I would never throw away all my hard work for a bunch of con artists. As suggested by many other members (and im not sure if this has already been done) – WE SHOULD ALL TAKE ACTION AND UNITE!
If we get 100 or so of us, the legal costs will be extremely minimal and worthwhile for everyone, or we could even find a lawyer who has also been affected by this and make a deal with no upfront costs (just a thought).
Anyway, I’m sure paying for more costs in your business is always one of the last things any of us would like to do so this WILL ONLY WORK IF WE CAN ALL UNITE so the legal costs are extremely low! (I’m thinking a couple of hundred dollars each)
LET’S TAKE THESE GUYS DOWN SINCE THE AUTHORITIES WON’T AND ALL UNITE TOGETHER. SEND THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE THAT YOU KNOW OF THAT HAS BEEN AFFECTED!
You can reply to me if you want to opt in and ill record all names etc. until we have a significant number then we’ll go from there!!

Have been reading the forum on Whirpool, but more interested in how to deal with the finance companies.
We have gone back to Telstra after the phones finally died on Tuesday (very impressive - only took a day) - but will have our solicitors look over the "equipment" lease paperwork - all opinions will be good.
We all seem very gullible when you actually read it all in detail - but there seems to be a lot of "equipment" in our lease doxents that we never received. My memory was that we didn't have much time to do it before signing - lesson learnt!
