Topic: TERMINAL ILLNESS & SUPER Posted: 10/September/2007 at 13:38
If I have an employee with a terminal illness who has exhausted all of their sick leave, annual leave, long service etc; and is no longer earning an income; is there anything that might stop the person or his family being entitled to accessing superannuation? My understanding is that their super earnings are always protected and available?
Thanks.
John

Hi John In the event of terminal illness, they should qualify as a Total and Permanent Disability access to super They should seek financial advice as soon as possible to assess what options are available
