Dos'nt it feel good to be loved.
Ask him what he said to your boss and you may proceed with charges.
Give him something to think about over the weekend.

Not to sure with my boss. They are alway saying to me things like, dont you care if you have a bad credit, or do you even care that this is unpaid, things I know I would not be saying to my clients where I work.

Just a bit of a update in relation to the court case against ACM/ACMS Group, initiated by the ASIC, for persons interested.
The legal action against ACM / ACMS Group has been ajourned again to the 21st june i believe - info from another website. It may be earlier, link below,

Hi all,
I've been lurking this forum since recently having dealings with ACM. They haven't been abusive towards me (yet, I'm guessing by some of the other posts), although the whole tone of the conversation was bizarre. By the end my spidey senses were tingling and I thought "this sounds like some sort of scam".
Anyway, I have a couple of questions. My debt involves credit card debt, which I admit is mine and I accept that I owe. I've noticed some people mentioning having had the bank buy back the debt from ACM. My understanding is that ACM buy the debt from the bank at a ridiculously discounted price. In my case I owe close to $20,000. Say if ACM bought the debt for even half of that, I'm guessing they'd charge a lot more for my bank to buy it back off them. Do banks actually do this?
My second question is: if I decide to just suck it up and deal with ACM (if I can come to a sensible repayment plan and not amounts they're asking for at the moment), what happens if the Federal Court does eventually judge against them and they fold? Would the money I've paid them in the meantime be all for nothing? If they fold, does that mean by debt would then not have to be repaid at all? Or I guess they'd just pass it on to another company?
If anyone is able to help, that'd be great. Especially regarding the query about my bank taking back control of the debt. To be honest, I'm stunned that any of the big banks are still dealing with this company, especially with the Federal Court case in the works!

Hi All,
Glad to know im not the only ones dealing with ACM / ACMS Group.
They have now been harassing me constantly for about 6 years for a Telstra bill which they are unable to provide a bill for or a contract or even details of charges on the account.
They are contacting everyone else apart from me, from family members who at the time i had no contact with to my old work. The threatening letters claiming they will take me to court i have dealt with it all.
I have now gone to the point of ignoring them until today when they contacted my mother asking for me.
Thats when i mum found this site and we have been reading everyones comments.
I contacted Nane (female) who is my "accounts manager" and advised her what i have said every time for the past 6 years: "You will not get a cent from me until you provide me with an itemised bill (which doesn't exist and i know it doesn't) or until you take me court"
We both got a bit heated with each other and she ended up hanging up on me.
I called through again and spoke to Roselyn in the complaints department and said it all over again. BUT this time she claims she has a bill and will email it through (lets wait and see) and she informed me it is mine and its on my credit rating they placed it on there in 2008 and its not due to come off until 2013.
I paid Veda for my credit rating and it is no where on there. Telstra or ACM / ACMS group! Yet they continue to chase me.
Im getting sick of them and now have gotten to the point that i am abusive to them (to which they hang up but me being persistent i continue to call)
Just wondering what the hell is going on with ACM / ACMS and is there a way of making this stop! Ive tried everything the nice approach the abusive approach the extremely offensive and constant swearing approach even a legal approach yet nothing happens they just send me out another letter.

Firstly, they bought the debt for anything between 5c and 20c in the dollar. Usually 10 to 15c.
A payment plan means nothing to ACM / ACMS Group unless it is in writing, otherwise they will muck you about.
As far as the banks buying back the debt, probably unlikely now since they have bought back a hell of alot and they will need to know how they have delt with you. Bad is better and is usually their way. In your case you have little chance.
If they fold they will sell of the debt to someone else for even less if able.

Thanks for replying. Although, I have to be honest here ... I don't get what you're saying really.
"Bad is better and is usually their way. In your case you have little chance". What do you mean?
And let's assume you're talking to someone who absolutely sucks at maths. 10c to 15c in the dollar on a $20,000 debt is how much?
And what do you mean a payment plan means nothing to them unless it's in writing? All I was getting from them were statements like, "Does your mother know about this? She'll help you out" and "We've sent two letters, you should've responded" when I've received nothing from them. They told me they'll take $10,000 at $3,000 per fortnight over the next few weeks as a "desposit" and then they'll think about hammering out a payment plan. I said, "Forget it, I'll go bankrupt". They said, "We don't want to send you down the bankrupty road". I said, "I'm talking about ME sending me down that road, not YOU".
Look, thanks for responding but I'm still clueless here. I think they're dodgy and if they're being taken to court, surely all dealings with them should have been frozen pending the outcome of the court case?

I'll be a little clearer for you.
1) Banks will only buy back debts if the debt aquirer treats you exceptionally bad - ilegally/harrasment/family/bosses/bad publicity, etc. They will not buy it back lightly. In your case, you said "They haven't been abusive towards me yet" so i assume that they have not done much wrong by you. Contact the bank, who knows they might buy it back.
2)On a 20,000 debt for example at 10% they probably bought it for $2,000. Could be less or slightly more.
3)You need a agreed payment plan in writing otherwise they can change the terms at any time and demand the remaining balance in full. So for example you may pay a considerable part of the debt off - they demand the remainder of the debt in full - you can't pay it - you might still end up bankrupt in the end. Also, you will incur ongoing interest as ACM/ACMS Group, like to delay action so that the debt increases. Some say that this is because they are too busy, very convenient$. Before you know it, you could be back to square one - where you started, near-at-or more than the original debt!
4) Once you make a payment, the 6 year time clock restarts and they can legaly pursue you for another 6 years +. (the 6 years can be increased considerably if they take further action and are successfull).
Finaly, as you said about going bankrupt by your action not theirs,- yes, this is the better way if you decide on bankruptcy for a number of reasons.
I hope the above is a little easier to understand and has not confused you. Refer to the ITSA website for info on bankruptcy and the below website in regard to others and their interaction with ACM/ACMS Group .

Bit of an update.
The authorities are finally moving in heavily on ACM.
They are interviewing those who have lodged complaints with the Financial Ombudsman and ASIC with a view of gathering enough evidence to shut ACM down cold.

Having been the person (ACMComplaint) who created the original thread and created the biggest response in this website's/forum's history I am bit disappointed that my account was suspended for perhaps challenging someone - I am now considering creating a website dedicated to ACM and the thousands affected by this organistaion and manipulating an SEO so that my website will become above this forum if that's what it takes. Certainly welcome someone to challenge me on this.
That aside -
@AJM48 - that is fantastic news. What is your source on this. I have contacted ASIC by email and phone to the person who originally contacted me from ASIC to no success. Can you confirm where this is from?

I have just checked your original account (ACMComplaint) & it's not suspended. Any difficulty you may have had logging in was not due to suspension, certainly not today at any rate.
That aside I note from this post & a couple of previous posts that you seem to think that you are especially deserving of some kind of recognition due to starting this thread. It has certainly generated some interest & it was in fact me that recommended it be made a 'sticky' topic & pinned to the top of the forum.
People who post on this forum volunteer their time & efforts free of charge & don't seek any kind of recognition & whilst you may have stated the thread, I note you have only made approx 32 posts since joining in Sept 2010. If you want to come on here & contribute to the same extent as others, you might achieve some recognition for your time & efforts. Personally I find your attitude disappointing & more than a little egotistical.
By all means start your own website, why you think that would bother anybody here is beyond me, but please don't come on here trashing this forum.
