What super fund was your mother with?

Have they already paid the death benefit?

By the sounds of it you have a good case to be able to prove financial dependence (i.e. from a superannuation perspective)

This is probably a month too late but I would contact them (or have the executor of your mum's estate) enquire to the super fund and ask them what they want in the way of proof regarding your dependence / inter-dependence.
