Hi,

Firstly, I have some super that I was looking to roll into an SMSF and secondly I own some equity in a company based in syd (My trust is the registered entity and owns 50%), and I was looking to contribute some more equity and was wondering if I set up an SMSF if I could do this.

Alternatively, I own an investment property with my wife and thought the SMSF could pay out some of this investment loan ($170k in super, $280k loan and $360k valuation), and from here I could withdraw $170k of the investment loan and invest in the business.

Any ideas if this can be down and if so any suggestions on who could facilitate (I live in Syd)

Cheers
Dave

Team

My wife and I have about 140k in super which we would like to invest in a private business where we hold no role in the business. My brother would actual run the business.

I am very new to SMSF and want to see if this is possible as we want to take control over our money. The business is in Queensland and focused on tourism (charter work).

If this is not possible can you use the SMSF to buy a house etc and rent this privately to a non related family member but a friend who you trust to pay good rent on time?

Cheers

Simon
