Hi

I have had a quote for a carport done by australian outdoor living and I was asked whether I wanted a roller door which i said yes, we agreed on a price and i signed the contract. The form is very vague no dimensions or anything and there was no mention of a roller door. When asked where is the roller door they said they dont do them at all and all he meant was do you want a space for a roller door.

I called to cancel my contract then they threatened with keeping of deposit and chasing me up for completion of the carport. Don't I have a 5 day cooling off period? and can I say they were misleading in facts etc?

thanks guys

Don't believe there is a cooling off period for such a contract. Don't think you can claim that you were mislead. Just a simple misunderstanding

Why cancel the sale anyway if you need a carport... Can't you just get a roller door of your choice fitted after construction?

Any opinion given should not be accepted as legal advice.
