Hi,

i have completed Masters in IT . I am on 485 Graduate temporary visa that is expiring in june 2014. I am about to submit EOI for 189 skilled independent visa. one of my friend told me that ACS has passed a new skill assessment requirement for people on 485 visa that is one year experience or professional year program. So my question is that as I have ACS assessment before the rule came into existence is it effect me. if it does what visa can i apply to do professional year. there is any other alternative solution for this.

thanks

As I understand it, the rules that apply are the rules as at the date any visa is processed and granted. I think your possession of qualifications prior to any rule change is irrelevant.

However I don't know the details of the current rules. I'll ask our member who is a migration agent to take a look at this an see if he can suggest the best approach for you to pursue.

I am NOT a lawyer. Anything said is NOT legal advice.

Please post your legal questions in a forum rather than sending a PM. Thanks.

Hi Abbybisht -

Sorry for the delay in responding - your case is somewhat complex and I need to know more about exactly what your ACS assessment says and is for in order to assist - please contact me offline at mark@mnvisa.com and we can work out what you'll need.

Best,
