Is winding up an inactive company just a matter of visiting an accountant.?

There are many ways to do it. You can do it yourself if you are capable, if not then engage an accountant, a solicitor, or a liquidator to do it but will cost quite a bit money to do so, it can cost up to a few thousand dollars.

To wind up the company, it must not have asset of more than $1000 with no liability.

Go to ASIC website, there are guidelines to how to go about it.
