Some one help me...I went to see a lawyer for a Quatation on how much it was going to cost if I was going to engage him to persure my case and he told me $500.00. I did not agree with the price so went to the next Lawyer and she tells me it will cost $260.00. I decided to get the second Lawyer but the first Lawyer keeps on send me a bill of $200.00, he says its a consulataion fee...He has send more then 3 mails asking me to pay. I just do not know what to do here..... I paid the second person and this one wants payment.....

Suggest you reply telling him you only came for a quote, and it was excessive so you went elsewhere.

If he does not accept this and continues to bill you, lodge a claim for freedom of payment, with the small claims court, however be aware that this will cost you a registration fee, check what that is in your state first, by ringing them.

Good luck.
I am NOT a lawyer. Anything said is NOT legal advice.

Please post your legal questions in a forum rather than sending a PM. Thanks.

hehehe legal eagles. $500 is what some of my mates charge just to invite them out for lunch. Like Martin says, tell him that you only went in for a consultation, although if he had to read the facts etc., etc., may not even be excessive to charge $200.00. I don't believe a solicitor would turn up to court for $260.00. You could complain to the Bar Association but I doubt they'd be interested. Small claims court, not worth the anguish, after all, your going to go before a magistrate who will almost certainly dismiss your claim and charge you court costs and award costs. Sorry, small claims... hand up brief if I believe everything my colleagues say.

What AOD said made perfect sense last night. In fact after the fourth bottle of Cliff Edge, I was nearly in tears. Not only did it make sense, I thought he'd made one of the most profound comments of the century. Funny though, it's only just making sense again. When I read this post at lunch time before my lobster lunch and champers, it looked just like Pidgin.
