Hi,

I am currently waiting for another 1 year to complete the 5 year waiting period to sponsor a second person. My stories goes that i had sponsored the defacto visa for my ex fiance about 4 years ago. We parted and she never ended up taking the Permanent residency. Hence the wait for 5 years before i can sponsor someone else.
My wife at the moment is a month pregnant. I was advised that the immigration waive the 5 year waiting period if you and your partner have a child together.

Could someone in this forum advise if this is only after the child is born or can be when your partner is pregnant. I want to be with her as soon as possible because this wait is just killing me :(

thanks
Adam

Adam, There may be others here who have been in the same situation, but it is unlikely that they will read your post. Perhaps a call to Immigration may get you a quicker answer.
I am NOT a lawyer. Anything said is NOT legal advice.

Please post your legal questions in a forum rather than sending a PM. Thanks.
