1. If there two single storey houses (terraces) built together on one lot, and the lot is subdivided to separate the terraces, what are the rules for subdividing the shared walls? (The front shared wall is a 230mm double leaf brick wall and the rear shared wall is a single leaf brick wall).
2. How should it be subdivided if the owner who is subdividing wants the properties to be separate after subdivision (no shared walls)? Thanks ![]() |

1\ The shared wall becomes a party wall and the boundary is normally a 50/50 split along the party wall.
2\ I believe you can make your new boundary on the otherside of the wall to become a boundary wall. you need to contact your local council for direction on this issue, as they may only allow the creation of a partywall. Edited by Ralph mouth - 03/October/2017 at 11:53 |
