Hi all,

I am in a situation whereby I am being blackmailed for money, by a person who is threatening to pass on information to my partner and family of a personal nature.
What legal options do I have and how should I approach it?

Blackmail is a criminal offence, you should report the matter to the police, take any written demands to them. Do not reveal to the blackmailer you have done this unless the police advise this.

Depending on the circumstances and the amount demanded the police may wish to monitor your phone or email.
