I am an Australian citizen and I lived and worked in the UK for 3 years. I moved back to Australia 2 years ago, but I still have a credit card debt with my UK bank. They have my home address in Australia on their system as I sold the house that I owned in the UK after I moved back here (my mortgage was with the same bank).

I have not been able to keep up the repayments and now they are sending nasty letters in the mail threatening debt recovery and / or solicitor action. I have no more assets of any kind in the UK.

Can they pursue me in Australia? I understand it will affect my credit rating in the UK, but I won't be living or working there again. Will it affect my credit rating in Australia?
Many thanks for any advice / info.

Kind regards.
