Over 48 men have recently been charged with frequenting an underage prostitute. Prostitution is legal in Sgp, but not for women < 21, the age of consent (confusingly) is 16, (the age of adulthood in Sgp is still 21, not 18 which adds even more confusion!). The guys nabbed include 3 lawyers, a police superintendent, some heavy hitting bankers, senior civil servants and there are more to come. What's astonishing to me, as an Aussie, is how many online commentators are blasting the girl as though it is her fault.

Linky

Even the CD lawyer has blasted her; 'Criminal lawyer S A, speaking to reporters after his clients were charged, called the girl 'a x prostitute' and his clients, the 'victims'.'

The penalty is quite significant - 7 years and/or a fine.
